Deep Sea Diver

Sound on The Sound is one of my favorite music blogs. Aside from the fact that they have their finger on the pulse of what’s happening, they put together some stunning, exclusive, and original artist videos. “In Black and White” from Deep Sea Diver is no exception.

This beautiful black and white video, produced by Abbey Simmons and Josh Lovseth, and shot by Tyler Kalberg, was done in the North Seattle basement of singer, keyboardist /guitarist and front woman, Jessica Dobson. The video captures the performance of Deep Sea Diver with stark, dark, and haunting intensity.

The first song “NWO” is filled with sonically exquisite guitar tones, tasty rhythms, and Dobson’s soaring, almost Siouxie Sioux-esque vocal stylings.

The uptempo and infectious afrobeat number, “You Go Running” follows right after. Deep Sea Diver is a special band with a special sound and worth keeping your eyes and ears on.
