SMI Lost Track of the Week: ‘Jackie’ by Blue Zone (Featuring Lisa Stansfield)

SMI Lost Track of the Week 2In 1987 a little known outfit out of the UK called  Blue Zone made their way into dens and living rooms via MTV and VH1 with a peppy and catchy, keyboard driven dance number entitled “Jackie.” The song featured the\brilliant and soulful vocals of one Lisa Stansfield. The Manchester England bred chanteuse left the group after one record to become a solo artist and went on to release the Grammy nominated hit, “All Around The World” in 1989.

Stansfield has one of the finest pop & soul voices on the planet. “Jackie” showcases her versatile vocal styling and range. After years on hiatus, last month she released her 7th record aptly titled Seven. It is great to see this talented singer back on the scene doing her thing in her own distinctive way.

You won’t find this lost track  in the store or on iTunes, but we have it for you right here on SMI…
