Since 2001, The Honda Civic Tour has been bringing together a variety of bands out on the road for late summer/early fall tour dates. This year’s second leg of the tour brought west coast bands Echosmith, and The Mowgli’s, and New York-based American Authors out on the road during October and November.
Echosmith, hailing from Southern California, has been touring nearly non-stop as part of the 2013 and 2014 Warped Tour. With the increased radio play of their single, “Cool Kids,” they’ve increased their fan-base nationwide.
Although The Mowgli’s, a band named after an early band member’s dog (and, yes, also the name of the lead character in The Jungle Book), haven’t released anything since 2013, their music is continually heard coast-to-coast through consistent touring. They not only receive exposure as a supporting act, but they also headlined their own tour in the spring of 2014. Their upcoming EP is slated for an early 2015 release.
American Authors pretty much exploded onto the music scene in the summer of 2013 when numerous businesses picked up their song, “Best Day Of My Life,” for multiple nationwide marketing campaigns. They have been on the road ever since.
