Davey Suicide @ The Funhouse

Ahhh, the feeling of seeing live bands again. This season, more and more bands are heading out on the road, and music fans are amped up. Whether you’re out to a big stadium show, or small venues, fans are getting in line, and bands are giving us all something we’ve been searching for…LIVE MUSIC!

Last week, Seattle’s “The Funhouse” hosted Davey Suicide for his second stop on his current, “The Right To Remain Defiant”, tour. Ironically, this was nearly ten years to the day of his first show in our city. The crowd, albeit small, enjoyed belting out song lyrics old and new as the band went through various costume changes, and stage performances set to elaborate lighting & smoke effects. No tears, mind you (this was a ROCK show), but fans felt the emotions and the words from Davey, and they shook straight to the core, as he spoke and sang into the mic. It was apparent they needed this tour as much as fans did. If you’re heading out to see them at another stop on the tour, expect gratitude to exude as the band gives you 110%. It felt great to be back inside a venue with my camera, “rocking” out alongside music fans, and capturing moments through my lens. (The only thing I could have asked for was more front lighting).
